Teaching your 2 yr old the finer things in life.

Don't let the pic fool you.
He has no idea how to ride it.
He will sit there & yell "Mommeeeee, Mommeeee, help me, help me"
So I run over, bend over, put his feet on the pedals & push him all the while I yell "Push your feet! Push your feet!"
It doesn't work, well it does, if we go down hill, even ground or a slight incline causes mass hysteria in the toddler when his tricycle won't go.

Now onto what I have taught the cutie pie up there.
Sure, he knows his ABC's & how to count to 12.
I need to make sure he knows the finer things in life.
Say for instance
Me: "What does a cat say?"
C: "Me-now!"
Me: "What does a chicken say?"
C: "Brock, brock"
Me: "What does a vampire say?"
C (with hand gestured like a claw) "Blah! Blah!"
Me: "What else does a vampire say?"
C: "I vant to bite your neck!"
A boy has got to learn these things. Of course, this lesson could come from the fact that I am reading the third book in the Twilight series. Don't know.

Over the weekend, I have taught C how to communicate with other drivers you have cut you off.
Say for instance when I have the right of way, the car coming the other way has the right of way, yet the driver waiting to go straight through the intersection thinks it's an appropriate time to jet out in front of you & the other driver, causing you to jam on the brakes & swerve.
This is when I scream
"A**hole!"
From the backseat I hear the binky pop out his mouth & with the same inflection in his voice I hear:
"Ash-hole"
Makes a mother proud, doesn't it!?

This evening was the piece-de-resistance in his quest to gather all that is knowledgable.
As I was making dinner & Cheeks was underfoot in my spacious 6x4 kitchen I decided to have a little fun.
I taught him to stick his tushie out, bounce it up & down, slapping it all the while singing "Pump up the Jam, Pump it up!"
It was quite comical if I do say so myself & I plan on using the flip to record & share this little morsel of cuteness with you all soon.

So, on that note, don't forget my giveaway (down there)
&
Tell me what you have taught your children this week.

Giveaway Time! Giveaway Time across the USA!

Say it isn't so.
Another giveaway???!!!???
O yes, my faithful readers, I am having another giveaway.
Wooo!
For what?
Well feast your eyes on these puppies:

That's right this giveaway is for:
Rain-X Car Care Kit that includes a set of Rain-X® Latitude™ Wiper Blades specific for your car, a bottle of Rain-X® Weatherbeater® 2-in-1 Glass Cleaner & Rain Repellant, and a bottle of new Rain-X® X-treme Clean.

Since winter is not quite over yet here are some tips from Jody DeVere, the President of the Women’s Automotive Association International and CEO of the auto-advice site AskPatty.com to stay safe while driving in the rain, snow, slush and ice:
• Conduct a regular walk around checking your lights, antifreeze, windshield washer fluid and wiper blades regularly
• Ensure your tires are properly inflated and have sufficient tread
• As the temperature drops keep your gas tank at least half full; the extra gas reduces condensation that can plug your fuel line with ice and stall your engine in cooler weather
• Create an emergency pack; items like a blanket, first aid kit, snacks, bottled water, an ice scraper, flashlight and a bag of kitty litter.

I have an emergency pack in my car ~ Thanks to the Grandpop....he always keeps me & my sister prepared.

Many of you may have read on Twitter or heard through my email or groups about my PITA of a problem trying to get wiper blades for my van recently. Had I been diligent about checking my blades, I wouldn't have failed inspection. So, really, you should pick a day & keep it annual & then check your wipers. Thankfully I got my blades replaced & now I have an extra set thanks to Rain X.

Now on with the important stuff.
How to enter.

You can do enter by:
*Leaving me a comment.
**Following me...if you already follow me, leave me a comment reminding me.
***Twitter about this giveaway & then DM on twitter with the link to the tweet.
****Post this contest on your blog & leave me a comment with a link to it.

That's it.
Easy Peasy.

So get to entering!!!

Confessions of A Counterfeit Farm Girl Review

Need a good book to read?
One that will have you laughing out loud?
One that will keep you interested from page 1 to the last page?
A book that is witty, insightful & makes you want to move to the boondocks with your significant other & make it work?

Well then, this book is for you:

Confessions of a Counterfeit Farm Girl by Susan McCorkindale.

People, it doesn't get much better than this. I read this book recently and have to say, it is my new favorite book. I can read this over and over again and never tire of Susan's wit!

She's a mom of 2 boys & the wife of one man on a mission. Susan used to be a marketing director for Family Circle magazine, as well as other mags when she left it all behind and moved her family to live on a farm. Hello?! A New York City worker/North Jersey livin woman now lives in the sticks. This is her memoir.

This book is her story. A story of fun and adventure and being compared to Carmella Soprano by her new "country" friends. A story of her husband teaching Susan the ways of farm living, including trying to get her to wear overalls. I won't even put overalls on my 2 yr old. Mainly because they are pain when it comes to changing him but I digress!

Since this is a memoir, Susan writes in the first person. By doing so makes it seems like you are having a personal one on one conversation with the author and not reading. Susan describes her surroundings and experience with such vibrance that as a reader I could picture everything crystal clear!

Imagine my surprise when I stumbled upon Susan's blog....Confessions of a Counterfeit Farm Girl. I quickly signed up to get her updates by email and of course, I bookmarked it. So if you would like something fabu to read, check out her book (which you can purchase directly from her blog!) and if you want to be entertained on a pretty regular basis, check out her blog. You will not be disappointed!

It's Thursday....What's on Your Fridge?

Come join the SJ Mom Bloggers for a Thursday Tour of What's on Your Fridge?
Let's take a gander at what's on my fridge.
As you can see peeking up at the top is a microwave & what is that?? My timer. Cheeks loves to play with it & I was using it so I had to put it up high!

What else is on there?
Dirt.
Naturally.

Let's take a close up, personal look.

We have my list. I will confess, my pad of paper is stolen. I had put it in my cart at Target, months ago, & forgot to put it on the belt. When I got outside, it was in my cart. Here is where my criminal self comes in, I was too lazy to just walk back in & admit my crime so I threw it in the bag & off we went.

Yes, I am a thief. I stole from the Dollar Spot at Target.

I am so sorry. Won't happen again.

I also have an invitation to my friend's daughter's birthday party this coming Saturday...note to self...buy gift. She will be 2. A pic of my friend, Megan, her adorable son who just turned one in December. And what looks to be a check is actual my current proof of insurance card. Anyone who is on Twitter knows I recently needed this document plus my registration. Well I didn't, Bobster did. Let's just say that the police officer only gave him a ticket for what he was pulled over for (rejected inspection sticker) & not lack of documents & rejected. The police officer also cut us a break because he told Bobster...I can impound your car as well. We got off lucky, albeit a few dollars less in some upcoming checks.

I have a random collection of magnets. The M is made by none other than Abby Key of the blog, It's All Good. Isn't it the best??? I love my bunny magnet...it says something about Revenge being good. Then you have my magnets that I picked up in Ireland & Italy & of course, my fav magnet of all...My Glinda the Goodwitch magnet. Love that one!

O yea, if you look in the corner you will see my Brita Pitcher Filter reminder to change the Filter. I haven't had the Brita Filter being used since Cheeks came off formula at 12 mos. He'll be 3 in August. Yes, yes, I am that lazy!

So tell me.....what's on your fridge????
Leave me a comment with a link to your post about your fridge if you can.

Thank you Aunt Chrissy!!!

This past Saturday Cheeks got a belated Christmas gift from his Great Aunt Chrissy. I don't mean great as in she is awesome (which she is), I mean great as in she is my Aunt & Cheeks is my son, thus she is his great Aunt.
Altho. after this gift, Aunt Chrissy in Cheek's eyes has graduated to Awesome Aunt Chrissy.
Feast your eyes on this puppy, er, catipillar, er, catispeller.

Ignore the pink binky in his mouth.
We are trying to break him of it.
Sigh.

Notice this thing is huge in lenght.
Why?
Well every leg has a letter of the alphabet on it. All 26 of them!
Making this 7 feet long.

As soon as Cheeks took this out of the gift, it was on like Donkey Kong!
He will not put it down & even attempts to ride it through out the house.

On Saturday, I ran to the grocery store and when I came home that is what I found.
Bobster said he wouldn't let it go.

As of right now, the cataspeller is in Cheeks crib with him.
I will move it to the changing table which is attached to the end of his crib & he will keep on eye on Cheeks through out the night.

Now my question for my faithful readers is this.
What shall we name him?
Leave me a comment with a suggestion.
Don't be shy...I am a comment whore!

On another note, um am I the only one who is currently watching "
RuPaul's Drag Race" VH1 is running it. I am totally loving it.

Where else can you find cute men that turn into absolutely stunning women??!!!
Altho. one or two of them have tushies that just won't quit.
And while I love drag queens, I hate knowing that a man can be prettier than me!
Oh does that sound shallow?
Not meant to be.
What I mean is they have outdoor plumbing & testosterone.
I have indoor plumbing & estrogen.
So how is a man end up being prettier than a woman?
Who cares!
I just love RuPaul!
You better work!

So remember, leave me a name for the catispeller & let me know if you are watching Rupaul.

station as a drop-off place for donated items for the care packages for
the patients. The details about the dates and times are listed below.

with a list of company names who donate. Please advise if you would like

The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow

& it did.
These pics were actually taken last weekend.
We had gotten a snow storm on Tuesday but the following Saturday it was like 55/60 degrees out. For all my Non US residents I have no idea how to convert that to celsius, I am the product of a 70's Public School Education. Please convert!

Being that we have been cooped up I thought let's take out the Cheekers for a little spin on his Scooter that Santa got him.
First we have to put on the helmet.
While I think he looked adorable, I don't think he agreed.
"Mommy, what is this? Snow? Mud? Water? I think it's lookin pretty good!"
"So good mommy, I will step in it!"
"Wait! I will jump in it, matter of fact I will jump in every single puddle I see!"

And he did!
Who else has a child that will find anyway humanly possible to find every ounce of mess making substance when they venture outdoors?
Anyone?
Bueller?
Bueller?
On another note, I want to know why people, particularly those on Extreme Homemaker, find it necessary to jump up and down, faint or act like they are fainting, fall to their knees & clutch their chest, or just scream non stop while jumping on poor Ty Pennington...not that I wouldn't want to jump on Ty but this is a familyblog so we won't go into details.
That is just my little peeve for tonight.
Is anyone else bothered by that on that show?
Am I just that much of a b*tch tonight?
Must be PMS.

When Mommy Reads @ Dinner

The creativity side of Cheekers comes out.

What is he smooshing between his hands?

Mashed Pototoes!!!!

Guess I was too absorbed in the new Family Circle that came today b/c when I looked up, all the while talking to him, that is what I found.
My 1st instinct was to get upset
BUT
apparently the happy pills are working b/c I thought to myself:
Nothing some water can't clean up
&
I grabbed the camera.
He was having a good time & actually ate some of his chicken so I thought "Why not!"
Then I just hoisted a chair into the kitchen up to the sink & stood him on it.
I hosed him down
Which Cheeks just thought was "da sh*t!"

What mess have you had to clean up this week?
Tell me!

Open Letter to the Public Works Department of Haddon Twp

Dear Public Works of Haddon Township

I would just like to thank you for the crass way I was talked to this morning when I called your office.
I dealt with the administrative assistant or whoever answers the phone.
I told her my plight.

What is my plight you ask?
Well on Sunday, in the beautiful 61 degree weather, I took my 10 yr & 2 yr old boys across the street to the playground. You know the one, the pink one that is next to the community pool.
It's cute.
It's a jungle gym with 2 slides & a tube & some other rough & tumbly things attached to it.
We had a great time.
The other family with their 2 yr old boy had a fun time.

What was not so fun was upon leaving with my children & dh I looked onto the ground & what did I see not 4 feet from 2 yr old's scooter but a used condom.
Yes.
A condom.
Used none the less.
Ew!

So I called today because being a resident with children I want to take part in the beautiful equipment you provide.
Imagine my surprise when the woman I spoke to acted as if I was bothering her & that it was a pain in the ass to get someone to come out & clean it up.
Obviously she doesn't want to enjoy the lovely playground equipment.

I do not think, that at 10 & 2 yrs old, I as a parent should have to explain what a condom is. Nor should I have to disinfect my 2 yr old's hands when he goes to grab the flat balloon on the ground.

So Public Works perhaps you could be up on things & when you have them cutting the grass perhaps they could pick up the disgusting trash laying on the ground.
Just a suggestion.

As for Miss Pissy Pants who answered the phone, perhaps you should call a dr he may be able to help you with that nasty condition of yours.

Signed

Quick Movie Review ~ He's Just Not That Into You

My sister invited me to go to the movies last night.
Since I usually just collect dust on my fat tush on a Friday night I jumped at the chance to go. Plus I would be able to watch a "chic" flick without the moaning of the male members of my home.

So we went to see "He's Just Not That Into You".

My review: 1 1/2 thumbs up.

Why?

Hmm, well there are a lot of characters at first but you do catch on quickly & they are easy to follow. The movies starts are a bit slow, almost painful.
It picks up but there is no real defining moment of this movie.
As my sister said "Predictable"
I did like the storyline of Gigi & the character that Justin Long plays.
His character is representing the author of the original book.

Scarlet Johannson's character was cute but I didn't agree with her choices & felt she was leading Kevin Connelly's character around.

Drew Barrymore's character, Mary, wasn't featured as much as I would have liked but I am a big DB fan.

Would I recommend this movie?
Sure, why not.
Definitely chic flick material but on track with why men & women do what they do in relationships.
If you can see it on a bargain matinee, even better.

So that's my exciting Friday night, what did you do?

Woops out!

Where have I been?

Anyone wondering?
I know all my faithful readers of, um, 2, no wait! Make that 43 b/c I have 43 followers.
Wooo...go me.

Anywho Sunday I took the day off from blogging & actually watched the Super Bowl with Bobster.
It was a really good game.
The cute thing was I put Cheeks to bed at half time & when he woke up the next morning the first words out of his mouth where:
"Football game?"
Me: "Who won the football game?"
C: "Yes"
Me: "The Steelers won"
C: "Yaaaaaaay Steelers!!!"
I thought it was cute & just wanted to share.
That's the obnoxious mom in me.

Let's see Monday had to be my most fav day b/c I got to leave work at 9 since I was nauseaus & having intestinal issues.
Well I made it to the highway (295 for you local readers)
Where I drove about 1/2 a mile & had to pull over.
Since my window doesn't go down on the driver's side, I had to open the door, still in my seatbelt & repeatedly puke out the door.
Ah, good times!
The best was that I wore my hair down & the speed of the cars & trucks passing by caused my hair to whip me in the face allowing it to get covered in vomit.
Ah, the memories I will have of that.

Then I just recovered Tuesday & Wednesday but yesterday when I went to leave work, I couldn't turn my key in the ignition soooooooooooooooo....
Who ya gonna call?
Bobster.
He & Chuckster show up & they couldn't get it to turn either so they fiddled with it & it appears to be my mechanical cylinder in the ignition.
So I have it at the Dodge dealership to get fixed.
Now the good thing is I purchased the extended warranty.
So I let my fingers do the walking today (remember that phrase!), called the wty place & asked what was covered.
Yea, electrical issues with the ignition is covered
BUT
mechanical, not so much.
So I will have to pimp out my body to pay the national debt that will be my car repair bill.
I am not even having them fix the window motor as I can't afford to sell any of my children (not that I haven't thought about it, one of them is a little too sassy these days!)

On another note, my giveaway has been postponed.
Have no fear tho.
If you took a guess as to what it is you have an extra entry.
It should be posted soon, I am just waiting for it to arrive.
If you want to place another guest see my 2 previous posts for some hints.
I will say one person guessed correctly so far!!!

Well Ugly Betty is on followed by:

wait for it,

wait for it.....................

Hell's Kitchen!!!!
Woo!!

Tell me what have you been up to & what is your must see tv on Thursdays.
Woops out.
