Let's recap, shall we

Friday night.
Date night.
Woo!
This is something so rare for me & the Bobster I am still adjusting to having it actually happen.
Spur of the moment decision for us but we found someone to watch Cheeks (Thanks Uncle Chucky)
&
We decided to do dinner (TGI Fridays)
&
A movie.
I won movie passes in my Easter bag at work so the movie was free, except for the $7K in snacks that we bought at the concession stand.

We ended up seeing:

Oh that's right.
I saw a typical guy movie.
I had seen 1 & 3 but not 2. I liked 3 & can't really remember 1 but seriously you do not need to really see these movies to pick up the plot.

The flick was good, albeit slow, lmho.
Don't tell Bobster but I really went for the eyecandy.

Well hello Vin!
Do you think he works out?
Anyway, this man could stand on screen & lip sync to a Britney Spears song & I would pay top dollar to see it.
So, um, Vin....again, call me! You know the number.

Saturday was a fun filled day.
Allergies started to kick in.
I also watched the girlies along with Cheeks from 1pm til midnite so the manly men could race.
I tried to take them outside but along with being hot, my eyes were itchy & I couldn't stop sneezing.
Plus my nosey ass neighbor was outside & she is always babbling about something nonsensical so we spent the better part inside.

After dinner I had enough of trying to entertain & keep safe the 3 little ones.
The girls are 6 & then Cheeks is 2 1/2 so my energy level was a bit down.
What to do?
What to do?

I put their tushies outside & gave them ice cream.
Hence:

So glad I put them outside.
The girlies managed to stay clean but the little guy, Oy! Vat a mess!
I put all their tushies to bed at like 8.
Then it was quiet time for the Mommy/Aunt.

Sunday was spent indoors.
At this point my eyes were swollen shut & my nose is constantly on fire.
I baked my mom a Lemon Riccotta cake (recipe to come soon) to celebrate her bday.
Did laundry.
Straightened up.
Cleaned the tumbleweeds out of my bedroom.
The usual.

So what did you do?

Woooohoooooo!
Isn't she the best Nana ever!!!
Nana turned.......................................................
Well if you would like to wager a guess g'head.
I will keep it a secret unless someone guesses then I will let the cat out of the bag when someone get's close.
Muahahaha!

The time has come....

To revisit an old fav at the bloggeroo.
The spelling & pronounciation of MY NAME!

Up there, in my header, is my name.
Notice the "H".
My mom gave me the "H".
Why?
So it would be used when people spell my name.

Now I perfectly understand if you do not see my name & have to ask me how to spell it
BUT
When you respond to an email, in which my signature is embedded, you can bet your a** I have spelled it with an "H".
So why, if I spelled it with an "H" & it's right there, do you take a glance at it & spell it "Megan", no "H".

This is not difficult!
This is what I like to call "Attention to detail"
Really.
Simple process.

And as for the pronounciation of my name.
It's done like this.
M - mmmmmmmmmm
Egg - e(short e) followed by "gah" like in Egg
In - like the word.

Put them all together & you get "Megin"
I even did it phonetically for you.

Please do not say "Maygin"
My name doesn't have a long a in it.
There is only one person who calls me that & he is allowed, that's it.

So now that we have revisited this post again, tell me what is bothering you today?
Anything?
Let it rip!

Testosterone Trio

See those 3 up there?
Yep.
They have it.
The disease.

What disease?
The "Closereplaceitus"
It's a sad disease.
Really.
I am thinking of starting a telethon.

The disease consists of not being able to replace a toilet paper roll on the empty roller.
I have seen them stuggle with this.
So very sad.
It's as if they are trying to figure out the theory of relativity when it comes to replacing the roll.

Of course, all three also suffer from being able to open a drawer, cabinet or door but not close it.
Bobster is the worse.
He has the disease bad.
I don't know how much time he has left.
The other two are young so there is some time left
BUT
Bobster...
He's so far gone, I don't have much hope.

Example: Just tonight.
He went to get a shower
BUT
first grabbed clean underwear.
In his drawer.
About 30 minutes later as he was done & downstairs I approached the bedroom with the fear that a symptom would rear it's ugly head in my direction.
I was right.
There it was.
Bobster's underwear drawer.
OPEN!
I gasped
&
thought to myself
"He needs help."
Not wanting to drawer attention to this symptom I closed the drawer.
I was afraid Bobster would be embarrased that his arms are so weak he couldn't close his own underwear drawer.
Let's keep it between just us.

Then we have TimBob.
He removed all his clothes from the cabinet in his room.
When I entered the room I noticed the clothes scattered on the floor.
Obviously he had a seizure that caused the clothes to scatter around.
I didn't say anything for a few hours
BUT
hoping for the best I told him.
He managed to clean it up.
He was weak, hungry and ready to pass out from folding the clothes & putting them back
BUT
He pulled through.
Thank God,he's only 15.

The 10 year old has a bad arm.
He can only carry a paintball gun in the one arm, rendering the other one useless to carry the trashbag.
Have no fear.
Not wanting him to lose complete use of the other arm, I gave him all the encouragement he could handle when I handed him the trash bag.
He managed to get it in the dumpster.
Tad out of breath
BUT
He rested afterwards
&
It looks like he will live.
Thank God!

I need your support my loyal readers.
It appears the men in my family only have enough strength to work the remote control.
Are you family members suffering the same disease?
Tell me.
Got any pointers to make this time in our lives more pleasant?
Give them to me!

Reason 928 why I hate Walmart

You would think getting a sweet deal like getting out the house BY YOURSELF would be enjoyable.
Sure.
Sure.
As long as I chose not to go to Walmart.

Unfortunately, Walmart was where I went.
Had to get the allergy meds b/c mine kicked into high gear yesterday.
They are dirt cheap at Walmart.

So while there I was perusing the infant section.
My girlfriend is having twins & next week is her "sprinkle brunch".
I needed to get diapers for her (got a decent deal)
&
I decided to get a pack of Gerber Onesies.
There were 6 in a pack for $8.97.
I had a $1.00 off coupon.

On the coupon it states "Save $1.00 when you buy any Onesies brand or any other Gerber Apparel or bedding product"
The clue here folks is in wording "Any other Gerber Apparel"
This should be self explanatory & anyone who has gone beyond 2nd grade should grasp the concept.

I chose the one cashier who was very sweet but the vacancy light was throbbing bright & proud.
Said coupon wouldn't scan so she said "Oh I think you have to buy the 3 pack" Now she said that b/c there is a 3 pack pictured on the coupon.
Having a background in cashiering I know that you must read the coupon, not just look at the pictures.
Sigh.
Chicky baby obviously wasn't schooled on this part of her job.
I point out the wording to her. Slowly...I didn't want to scare her.
So she says nothing, just flips on her light.
At this point I was aggravated b/c I already had to dodge small children whose parents are no where to be found, learn an entirely different language if I want to ask someone "Excuse me" so I can get around their cart which is blocking the entire aisle & manuver my way around numerous spills & teens who think it's fun to play games in the aisles.
All good times.

I told her "If you have to call someone just forget it. Take it off. Not a big deal"
I left w/o my deal on the Onesies.
So Walmart, Target will get my $$$ for that one.

Will I return to Walmart?
Yes.
Will I try to find a cashier who knows how coupons work?
You bet your sweet bippy.
Will I still bitch & complain about Walmart?
Yes, unless I found the Mothership of Walmart's where the store is clean, the workers know the policies & people are considerate of each other.

Do you have any complaints about Walmart?

Soundtrack to your Summer

What is the soundtrack to your summer?
The Philadelphia area had the soundtrack provided by Harry Kalas.

The legendary sports announcer died yesterday.
How sad.

While I am not a huge baseball fan, growing up in this area, a person knows that voice.
You can recognize it anywhere.

So my sympathies go out to the Kalas family.
You will be missed Harry.

Doppelganger

1st disclaimer...Cheeks is not crosseyed.
I think he was focusing on his new dinosaurs.

Anywho, that is Cheeks & that is the Grandpop.
I think they are both about the same age.

The family thinks they look alike.

What do you think?

I'm thinking...Hells yea!

Happy Easter

The Easter Bunny delivered a way cool Dinosaur basket.
Filled w/ toy dinosaurs, chocolate bunny & a Cadbury Egg - which Cheeks had for breakfast (don't judge!)
And someone spotted that the Easter bunny came!!

What did you get?
A big dino!
Another dino...ROAR!

I love the Easter bunny!
Playin with the treats.

We still have activities to do for the day.
I did try to explain to Cheeks what Easter is really about but he just repeated what I said.
I think it's time I check out the Deseret website to see what sort of things I can get to give him lessons on who Jesus is & all about our Heavenly Father.
How is your Easter going?

Answer is...

This baby.......

Turned into this young girl (all Hail the Hair!)

Who turned into this stunner.

That's right...the baby was me.
Sadly the only who guessed right was my mom.

Thomas & Friends...LIVE!

Guess where Cheeks & I went on Saturday?
Oh that's right.
To see
Thomas & Friends Live.

I was lucky enough to win tickets from
Mom Select in conjuction w/ BSM Media.
So thank you to both sites because my 2 1/2 yr old & I had the best time!!!
Cheeks loved it.

I was skeptical at first that he would stay still for the whole thing
BUT
the producers of the show know their target audience & kept both acts at 30 minutes with a 15 minute intermission.

The venue was great & our tickets were really good seats.
Although all seats are pretty good in this venue (The venue is the same venue that my college graduation was held in back in '05).

The show moved at a quick pace & was engaging for all ages.
Cheeks danced in his seat & I tapped my foot along with the songs.
A few times Cheeks grabbed my hand & wanted to go on stage to see Thomas.
Could you imagine?
It would become Thomas & Friends Live w/ special guest stars "Cheeks & his mom"
Ha!
Then we would promptly be arrested & my blog would be left to the devices of Bobster.
Oh!
That would be bad.

Back to the show.
I highly recommend seeing it.
It's fun, engaging, colorful, perfect amount of time & great for everyone.
Some of the performers come into the audience right before the show starts & say "hi" to everyone.

So check out the show if it comes to your area
&
Check out Mom Select.
It's a great site with terrific opportunities!

And, as an added bonus, I got to meet my fellow SJ Mom Blogger, Miss Mommy from The Thrifty Mommy! Altho. I was frantically looking for my wallet that I misplaced & trying to keep an eye on Cheeks so I didn't realize it was her until it was too late. Thankfully she is a forgiving person & understood that my mind was somewhere else. So next time we meet I will be more with it :>)

How about helping those at home?

I know I am going to get flack about this
BUT
keep in mind this is not my opinion for everyone, if that makes sense.
This is for celebrities or those that have enough money to buy small countries.
It's about Madonna & her "rumoured adoption"

Madonna, I would like to say to you the following.

You are blessed to have 3 children.
A beautiful, identical to you, daughter,
And 2 sons.
I do not begrudge you additional children.
Heck, I would have more but well, I am not a pleasant pregnant women, but I digress.
What is upsetting about your most recent rumoured adoption is that you are going out of the country to do this.
There are many, many children here.
In the US.
Who need good homes.
Many children in this country go hungry, don't have a place to live or are living in such poor conditions that it is undescribable.
So, how about taking the money that you have donated to Malawi & perhaps match it with a donation to a children's home here, in the US?
How about adopting a child from the US?
A child who needs a mommy or a warm bed at night.
I do not begrudge any child or any person the joy of becoming a family.

What saddens me, is knowing the many children, in our country who need a family but go without because celebs want to go elsewhere to adopt.
I am not saying not to donate to these other countries or to spread joy & love there.
Go for it!

I am just saying to think about the children here.
As a celeb I am sure the many issues with paperwork & roadblocks would go more smoothly for you than say John Smith of Main St.

Would I adopt?
Yes.
Would I adopt out of this country?
Yes, but I would try to adopt from my home country first.
Every child deserves a happy home.
I just wish more celebrities would help out at home.

Let the flaming begin.

It's like a gift from the Heavens

The biatch is gone!

Sandra from America's Next Top Model was sent home last night.
Thank God.
She's pretty but that's about it.
I give her credit.
She has great self esteem.
Something I lack but I digress.

Even after getting sent packing she was saying she couldn't believe the judges did that & she was the best one out of the house.
Right.
Right.

I doubt we will see her in anything.
If we do I will be surprised.

So what did you think?
Do you think she should have gone?
Whose your fav this season?

Woops out.
