It's a Parade!

Warning, heavy photo post.
Warning #2, photos taken with crappy cell phone.

Now on with the show.
Saturday was the next town over Christmas parade.
Since we live about 2 mins from the town we took in the show.
What a show it was.

Check out the horse drawn carriage.

For those who have been with my blog for away & have heard me talk about "The Mummers" here they are.
Well one band anyway.
Grown men, dressing up and "strutting" down the street.
It's a big to-do in the Philadelphia area.
Trust me.
 Who is this?
Wait a minute!
This is the adorable, yet overly hyperactive, son of mine.
This is really the only time he stood still.
Well that & when he dumped chocolate milk all over my tushie.
Don't ask!
 OOOH! A float!
 Or two!
 More Mummers!
Just so you know, women were only recently let in the Mummers.
It was exclusively men for years.
It was prob. in the last 20 yrs that women could join.
Cheeks was confused why the men were wearing skirts.
This is the "Emerald Society."
Irish Bagpippers, not Scottish.
I have no idea how Frosty didn't melt.
It was about 62 degrees outside.
Completely foreign for this time of year!
The Collingswood High School Marching Band.
Bringing in you know who!
 There he is!
The big man himself.
So that's what we did this weekend, what did you do?

I'm Falling for Fall

It's October 1st.
Fall has finally appeared in Jersey.

The weather is cool.
The sun is shining.
Mother Nature has given me the ok to officially break out the fall/Halloween decor.
Love it!

What signifies fall for you?
I love this little diddy up there, by Moose A. Moose.
I'm a big fan of his.

Irene's Aftermath

Cheeks & I went for a walk today. It was windy but the temperature was divine. I only had my cell phone & thankfully in our little area we fared pretty well in the wake of Hurricane Irene. This is the back of the pump house at our pool:

Here's the splash pool that I have shown pics of before.

Finally the tree across the street from our house, closer to the lake.
Things could have been so much worse. I am thankful they were not. How did your area fare?

Enough is Enough

Do not be fooled, this is NOT a picture of Bobster in all his glory.
Looks just like him I know!

I digress.
Enough is enough with the weather here in NJ.

First an earthquake, then a hurricane with tornado watches.
Someone obviously pissed off Zeus or Mother Nature.

I'm not sure which.

We've had enough.
Bring back the hot, humid, dog days of summer & let's call it even...m'kay?

How is the weather in your neck of the woods been?

That Doesn't Happen Here...til Today.

That's New Jersey.
My state.
See the words that say Camden (right by the Delaware River & across from Philly), I pretty much live right there.
In Camden County.
See where it says Mt Holly.
I work there.

Here in NJ we don't get a lot of weather related stuff.
Sure, Nor'Easters, Torrential Rains, effects from hurricanes. But Earthquakes?
Nope.
Not in all my life do I remember one.
Til today.

 There I was.
Sitting at my desk, tooling around the internet, not that I do that at work, I am just embellishing part of the story for artistic sake.

So there I am.
All of a sudden, my office chair starts to rock back & forth.
The lights above me starts to swing
&
You can hear the tin tiles on the roof shaking.
We are having an addition put on so at first we thought it was the crane hitting the building.
My poor supervisor didn't know what to think.
Then we realized...EARTHQUAKE.

 In Jersey.
Home of the attitude & big hair.
Home of Theresa from the Housewives.

We are not made for this.
While it lasted 10 seconds and was really the aftershocks of what hit Virginia, it is something that I don't care to experience again.

I'm good.
 Really.
Bring on the snow.
Bring on the rain.
 Bring on the humidity.

Leave the earth shaking to the states that are used to it...thank you very much.

Tell me did you feel the effects today?

Mommy's Weekend Out!

Know what I did this weekend?
Stuff for me.

Oh that's right.
Me.
The mommy.

I went out.
With my friends.
Yes.
Mine.

What did we do you ask?
Chinese auction baby!!!!
600 women let loose in a high school gymnasium to throw their tickets in boxes for a chance to win a gift basket.
The baskets ranged from baby stuff to gift cards for the movies or out for dinner.

Holla!

They also had door prizes.
I won one.
A lovely window box with fresh parsley, basil & chives in it.
I'm giving it to the Nana because let's face it, I'm lucky I keep my family alive, I shouldn't be trusted with herbs.

Now we have all seen this photo:

Apparently, people have complained.
Says it's not up to date.

Pashaw.

I mean is the big bow & big hair only from the 80's?
Whatever.

Anyway, feast your eyes on this baby....

23 years later peeps.
We still look 17.

Right?
Right?

*chirp**chirp**chirp*

That was taken Saturday night at the shindig.
It was nice.
She is also the woman who introduced me to Bobster.
I love her, known her since we were 14.
Will always be one of my bff's.

Ok, enough sappy sap.

Sunday, the family went to a Philadelphia Wings game.
You know, lacrosse.

Loved it.
Best part was when they beat each other up.
Bring on the violence!

It really is a fun game.
I wanted to play in high school but we didn't have a lacrosse team.
There are adult leagues now but they do not have emergency services at the games nor do they supply with you oxygen.
Something about the leagues wanting you to be in shape to play.

Yea, whatev!

So tell me how was your weekend?
What did you do?

Better yet, are you still friends with someone with high school?

Do tell.

Oh that's right ladies

He's all mine.
Keep your hands to yourself.

This is what Bobster does when he's bored at work.
And he tells me I do nothing all day.
Hmm.
Guess that Bobcat is driving itself.

So I am sitting here in my cold home, jammies on, listening to the serenade of Bobster's snores while it snows like a mofo out there.
I am totally over the snow.
Totally!
Growing up I never remember this much snow.
I remember snow here & there
BUT
Jersey is getting pounded this winter
&
well, I've had enough.

Bring on summer!

Don't get me wrong.
Winter is great.
You can bundle up in all kinds of layers.
Hide the fat rolls is my motto.
I don't mind the cold, and really don't mind the snow.
As long as it's on the weekend.
When I don't have to get up & shovel
BECAUSE
as we all know Bobster is usually out of town when snow hits.
He's home this time though.
I will watch from the warmth of my computer screen as he shovels.

It's not that I don't want to shovel.
We only have one.
So really what good would I be.
And my delicate hands would get so frozen out there.

I will man the inside.
Perhaps made a banana cream pie.
From scratch.

How 'bout you?
What do you do while it's snowing?

LMK!

Sunshine Day, Everybody Smilin!

It's a Sunshine Day in my house!
Woo.

Why, you ask?

Well the Dr., the Dr., who said she wouldn't give me the meds, called me today.
This was after I called the office & complained that I didn't hear from my main dr.
I was informed that my main dr. was out of the office all week.
Don't you think the bitch yesterday should have told me that!

Anyway, Dr. C was like "Meghan, I never said I wouldn't give you medication"
Now at this point I wanted to reach my hand thru the phone & strangle her by her thin neck but I remained cool & told her my plight & how I know I have a problem etc & that I am trying to find help but don't feel that she is giving it to me.
She stood firm on her saying she never said I couldn't have them. She said she told me it was an option
&
I said "Yes, an option you said you wouldn't give me!"

Long story short...she called me in a script.
So I will pick up tomorrow.
And be on my way to getting better.
Let's hope!

Just thought I would let my faithful readers know!
I know I have so many fans out there. LOL

On that note...Woops out!
