How do you know it's officially Christmas?
How do you know?
You could go by the fact that you are 10lbs heavier from your Thanksgiving meal.
Or
You were standing in line at 3am to get the "best deal"
For me it's this:
I now know it's officially Christmas.
Tell me what does it for you?

Thrifty, Chic or Pathetic?
Here's the situation.
I have safety pins holding my zipper up on my jeans (b/c the zipper doesn't go all the way up & my jeans are low risers - no overly becoming on a girl with hip & tummy issues, I digest.)
The shirt I am wearing, well blouse, used to have 3 buttons at the bottom. It's a silky material & I lost the buttons so....
I have 2 buttons in the places of the top & bottom button (because I still have the middle, albeit hanging on by a thread.)
So you tell me, thrifty, chic or just plain pathetic?

This hits home
I am posting this for family friends.
Please read the following article taken from Stars & Stripes
Airman killed in auto accident near Aviano
Stars and Stripes
European edition, Tuesday, September 1, 2009
A U.S. airman and two Italians were killed in a three-vehicle accident Friday afternoon, according to a 31st Fighter Wing news release.
The accident occurred about 4:50 p.m. near the town of Giais, a few miles northeast of Aviano Air Base, Italy. Authorities declined to release the name of the airman until verification that family members have been notified.
The airman was medically evacuated to a hospital in Udine where he was pronounced dead, according to the release.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
What you don't know and what I would like to bring to your attention is this:
After flying to Italy, SSgt Dos Reis' parents viewed their deceased son on Saturday & were told to return Monday to officially id him in the prescense of Italian Authorities. Upon their return they were shocked & horrified at the state of decomposition of h is remains due to improper temperature maintenance.
Conversations with officials, both on base & attached to the military funeral corps, indicated Italians do not meet American standard of funeral preservations & were told the the American officials were powerless to assist or intercede in the "civil" matter. The parents recognize the local gov't maintains legal authority regarding these investigations, this is not in the dispute. However, they do not agree w/ the lack of oversight by our gov't while a dead airman's remains are in the hands of foriegn civil authority.
I am writing this to urge you to write your Congressman & plea for help in lodging a formal protest w/ the US Air Force & the gov't of Italy. The formal protest is due to the lack of preservation & handling of their son's remains. He was 22 yo's & served for 3 1/2 years when he was involved in the fatal auto accident while on his way to report for duty.
Thank you for reading
&
If you need addresses for Congressman let me know!

Fashion Show: You better work!
The Grandpop bought Cheeks some items from the website Kidorable
Of course, Cheeks had to model.
And as you can tell he's just a natural in front of the camera.

Question for all my fans
Ok here is my "must know" question for the day.
When entering giveaways on blogs & such do you:
1. Just want to leave a simple comment to be entered & that's that
OR
2. Have the options for more entries like:
a. Blog about this contest for an extra entry
b. Twitter, Facebook, post on message board for extra entries
c. Stand in circle, spin & sing Ethel Merman for addt'l entries
That sort of thing.
I have a giveaway or two coming up & I want to know.
I know how I like to enter giveaways & what I don't like to do, which most times deters me from entering the giveaway.
Let me know!!!!

Veteran's Day
Take the time today to thank a Veteran.
They put their life on the line for your freedom.
Sometimes, a lot of times, they do not get the praise, thankfulness & acknowledgement they deserve.
*that's my dad on the left of the screen, the tall, good lookin one!*

Happy Birthday Sesame Street! You are looking good!
It is Sesame Street's 40th birthday.
40!!!
The show premiered just a few months before I was born.
Quick.
Do the math!
Sad, but true, 40 is looming on the horizon for me.
Anywho, can you believe that Sesame Street has been on the air that long?
I love Sesame Street.
I have always felt like kindred spirits with Big Bird, he being so tall & all.
Elmo & Abby Cadabby are my favorites now.
Cheeks got to meet Abby back in May when my sil & I took the kids to Sesame Place.
He loved her.
He loves to watch Sesame Street.
I love for him to watch it.
Such a fabulous education show.
I think my fav segment is "The Lady Bugs Picnic".
Can you believe that Gordon is still on the show?
What I can't believe is that his real name isn't Gordan.
I know!
I was shocked too.
Tell me, who is your fav muppet/character from SS?
And what is your fav segment?

Mish mash
Whew.
Haven't really posted in awhile, have I?
Been sick, Cheek's been sick & Bobster was sick.
And as we all know when the male gets sick, well the world is coming to an end.
Plus our internet has been hit or miss.
Well let me fill you in.
First I won this:

Next up, TimBob turned 16. When did that happen? Looks like a man doesn't he?
Finally, Halloween came & went.
The younger 2 dressed up.
Cheeks wasn't feeling good so he mad it about 3 or 4 houses & called it quits.
Chris got a nice haul & I think he ate it all in 24 hours. Sigh.
