Leaving it in the hands of my readers

Ok.
I need your opinion.

I have been thinking of getting something for awhile.
A few years.

No, no, not a tattoo.
While I wouldn't mind & there are some really cool ones out there, I just can't figure out what I want on my body the rest of my life.

I'm talking nose ring.
Yep.
The Aunt Erin has one.
Very cute.
Very subtle.

That's what I'm talking about.
Did you think I meant this kind?:

While attractive, not exactly subtle.
Plus I'd have to get the big ole ear things & wear black eyeliner etc etc.
Too much work.

I'm talking small diamond stud.

Now let's keep in mind, I'm 40, overweight (don't ask me about my new bra size!) & pretty conservative with my overall look.

So what do you thing?
Should I do it?
Yay
or
Nay.

I say what not - If you get it and decide that you don't like it you can always take it out. I have had mine done on three separate occasions (each piercing was on the same spot as the last) and there is not scar evident unless I'm checking out the pores on my nose up close in the mirror.

Glitter Gurl has one, it's cute, but she's 23 and cute. Quite honestly, I just don't think it's for the 40 and over conservative crowd. BTW when she was younger, Augie Dawgs had her brow pierced and OMG it hurt me to look at her!

I think a small diamond stud can be classy. If you don't like the look I suppose the hole can close up like the ear holes.
Good Luck!
Fondly,

I'm not a fan. But I think if it's something that YOU want, it's up to you. So there...I placed the decision back into your hands. Taking NO responsibility for said decision either.

And shudder about the kid and his "subtle" nose ring. GROSS.

Hmmm, At 40 when I got my tat I had thought about for five years. Finally got it. At 41 I got a belly ring. Didn't matter that I had a muffin top. Lady said women much larger than me got them all the time. At 42 I had the cartilage in my left ear pierced. Hurt like a sonofabitch for two years, but lovin it now.

My point is, don't allow others to make up your mind for you and DON'T let age be a factor. If you want your nose pierced...I say go for it. If you don't like it, you can always let it close. No harm, no foul. If you don't try it, you may regret not having done so. You can't regret trying it because if you don't like it, just take it out. Win/Win situation.

Just my opinion.

If you've been thinking about it that long, you want it and you should do it. If you don't like it, it heals. There's nothing wrong with some self-expression, especially in the over-40 crowd...it's your time to say this is me, like it or not, not my problem!

Go for it! I've had one and it leaves no visible hole when you decide to no longer wear it. Much better than the several tattoos I got.
