Let us have a moment of silence

For the cast of Ugly Betty.

Word came out yesterday that ABC (those rat bastards!) have decided to cancel the show.
Oh, that's right.
Cancel.
End it.
Fini.
No more.

I am not amused with this choice.
Talk about upseting.

I knew something was up when they started moving her around.
Move to a Friday night?
Hello!
Kiss of Death!
Then Wednesday at 10pm.
WTF?

Now this!
How will I survive?
What will I do without my friend, Betty?
I don't think I can go on without my fix of Mark & Amanda.
Not to mention that witch Wilhemina.
Poor Hilda, first the baby, now this!

Ah, carumba!

So, ABC if you are listening, reconsider.
The show has lots of fans.
We need our Ugly Betty fix.
STAT!

Don't take her from us.
We love her!

Tell me readers, are you Ugly Betty fans?

Ouch!

There I was.
Simply minding my own business.
In my own kitchen.
All of a sudden, I was attacked!!!

Out of the clear blue.
I did nothing to provoke the attack.
I was in my stocking feet trying to walk to the pantry.

That's when the stealth move happened.
Caught me by surprised.
I screamed.
Yelled.
Taught Cheeks a new phrase that has 2 words and begins with Mother. (I kid! I didn't do that but I screamed it in my head).

Who attacked me you ask?
Not who! WHAT!
My refrigerator.
Jumped out & broke my toe.
The pain.
The horror!
I'm shell shocked but years of therapy will help.

I tried to get workman's comp or disability but I was laughed at.
Hmph!
The nerve.

Tell me what have you ever broken?

These are a few of my Favorite Things....

Hi.
My name is Meghan and I am a cereal addict.
Yep.
Cereal.
Cold cereal.
Straight up from the box.
Like these:

I prefer kid like cereal, as you can plainly see from the box of Lucky Charms sitting there.

Did you know that ready-to-eat cereal eaters consume less fat, less cholesterol and more fiber than non-cereal eaters? They do! Cereals also deliver important vitamins, minerals and other essential nutrients, making cereal a top source of key nutrients in children’s diets.

Other cereal benefits:
Ready-to-eat cereals, including presweetened cereals, account for only 5% of sugar in children’s diets. Woo hoo!

Ready-to-eat cereal is the No. 1 source of whole grains in a child’s diet today.

More frequent cereal eaters tend to have healthier body weights and lower Body Mass Index measures.
Studies also demonstrate the benefits of eating breakfast. A 1998 study showed that children who eat breakfast tend to perform better at school. Compared to children who skip breakfast, children who eat breakfast score higher on tests, are less likely to miss class or be tardy, have fewer reported discipline problems, and make fewer trips to the office.

For more information about kids and cereals, please visit
Cereal Health and Wellness.

Right now, if you go
here you can print out a $1 off coupon for one of four General Mills cereals. Total score!

I chose the 4 above cereals to test out.
Lucky Charms is for me, altho I let the kids have a little...just a little!
I got Kix & the Cheerios for the kids.
Mainly Cheeks.
He thinks Kix are a special treat!
I'm not telling him they are good for him :>)
He had 2 bowls as an after dinner treat, sans milk.
I'm not ready for that mess yet.

I have been a staunch General Mills advocate since I was old enough to eat their products so I suggest checking them out. Look for the white check mark!

Tell me tho. before you go what is your fav cereal?

**Disclaimer: I have received no compensation for these review besides four coupons for four free boxes of cereal. All opinions are my own. These coupons were provided by

Let's Discuss

Two of my fav reality shows have started again.
First up.... Celebrity Rehab w/ Dr. Drew.
Luv him...he's so sexxxxxy.

This season he has Heidi Fleiss on.
Now I used to think she was kind of cute.
Always smug looking but cute.
Well get a load of this:

Damn girl!
This, readers, is what drugs will do to you.
She is only 3 years older than me...that would make her 24 42.
Life has not been kind.
I contribute this to rampid drug use.
Why, Heidi, why?

I digress.
I want to see her succeed on the show & perhaps she can get some tips from Heidi Montag-Pratt on how to better herself with a little nip & tuck.

I don't know, what do you all think?
Am I being too harsh on poor Heidi?

Next up is Project Runaway with.....
TaDa: Tim Gunn!

What?
That's not Tim Gunn?
That's just some incredibly cute puppy?
Oops, sorry, just too cute to pass up!
Here is Mr. Gunn

Love this man!
He carries himself so well.
Dresses so daper
And he is just so distinguished.

Honestly, let's just call a duck a duck & say Project Runaway's real host is
Tim Gunn!

It wouldn't be PR w/ him.
Really?
What does Heidi do anyway?
Sure, she comments & let's the losers go
BUT
Tim, he's the brains of the operation!

Do you agree?
Tell me, what reality shows are you into right now?

Date Night or Chinese Water Torture, take your pick.

Friday night Bobster & I decided to have date night.
We conned asked my sister to watch Cheeks.

I had recently received movie passes courtesy of my employer as my one year anniversary gift.
So I thought I had the right to pick the movie, being they were my free tickets & all.
Bobster told me he revoked my right after I picked Twilight last year.
Hmm, whatever, he just doesn't appreciate good romances.

So Bobster picked this:

Don't get me wrong, I love me some Denzel.
Even Gary Oldham is a great actor.

This movie tho, well Chinese water torture would have been less painful.
It's bleak, dark & sloooooooooooooooooow.
It has it's moments but for the most part it's blah.

The theater was packed.
Opening night and all.
I perserved and stayed in my seat, awake, to see how it ends.

It even has a twist to it that you don't "see" coming.
There is your hint as for the twist.

It was great to spend time with Bobster and watch something in peace & quiet or not have the channel changed 8 billion times when a commercial comes on.

Would I recommend this film?
Not so much.

Have you seen it?
What's the last movie you saw?

"Me"

Gotta love the Happy Bunnies, don't ya?

I have decided my word of the year.
Me.
Yep.
It's all about me this year.

Not in the "Oh, let's not talk about me, let's talk about what you think of me" way.
More in the way of what am I going to do for me.

2010 is going to be about me:
1. Standing up for myself (b/c no one else is going to be my advocate)

2. Working on improving myself...education, creative, health wise.

3. Taking a little time for myself without feeling guilty.

4. Learning how to say no. Really this is probably grouped into #1 but I thought it deserved it's own post.

Really, that's it.

Have you picked a word to help you make it through 2010?
Tell me...

On the other hand if you are wondering why on earth am I posting on a Monday when I should be at work...I am home.
With the dreaded strep throat.
While I feel ok physically my throat feels as if it's been sliced & diced.
Ugh.

I am on antibiotic & I can tell it's already working as the pain level has decreased...slightly but still.

Well enough about me, what do you think about me.....Ha!

I am one of the last people on earth...

to see: Twilight: New Moon

I went last week.
By myself.
Oh, that's right.
All by my little lonesome.
It was delightful.

Now, as for the movie I loved it
BUT
I had a bit of disappointments:
1. All the hype about the Volturi & they were hardly in it.

2. I didn't like how they had Edward appear to Bella instead of just being voices. I know Robert Pattison has to appear in the movie b/c if he didn't I think it would be mass hysteria.

3. The Wolf pack needed to appear more & I think they should have developed the story more, like the book.

It was a long movie so I know adding in what I want would make it like 7 hours long but come on!
I would have sat there & watched.

I did love it tho.
Even the music.

Now I will just be waiting for Eclipse to come out.

I know the end of the saga.
I read all 4 books.
I still find the need to see the movie.

What about you?
Have you seen it?
Have you read it?
Do you want to see it or read it?

Got Resolutions?

Ready?

  1. Gather all freebie pet supplies to make donation to local shelter at end of year.
  2. Save a minimum of $5 a week. (small but do-able)
  3. Cook dinner at home more often & take lunch to work more often.
  4. Become more organized.
  5. Teach Cheeks his letters so he has letter recognition.
  6. Keep up on the cleaning in the house.

Other odds & end resolutions that aren't worth numbering.

How about you?

What's on your list?

Sigh

The white stuff just melted.
It's gone.
All 24 inches of it.
We had a white Christmas.
First one I remember in 39 years.
Yes, I am that old.

Apparently, Mother Nature is considering blanketing the Philadelphia region again for New Years.
Is this a sign to come for the winter of 2010?
If so, I am not amused.
Seriously.
I like the white stuff
BUT
what a freakin mess!

That brings me to resolutions.
Are you making them?
I am.
Ones that I think I will be able to obtain.
You know, like not killing Bobster or the kids when they get on my nerves.
That sort of thing.

So what are your resolutions?
Tell me.

It was all for this

Santa filled our tree with tons of things.
While visions of sugar plums danced in our heads....sugar plums, Coors Light, it's all the same.
Then the littlest one woke up & gazed at the tree & all his Santa presents.
He then presented mommy with a "blow out".
Just what I asked for on Christmas morning.
He had to have a shower before continuing to open presents.
Christafus was very excited to receive his Bakugan game.
Really. He's excited!
Soft focus is always better for the mama.
Now if they just had a program to reduce my large frame to that of say Cindy Crawford.

TimBob was a very good boy this year.
His grandparents gifted him an Ipod Touch.
Nice!
And as you can see someone was very happy with the turn out of the whole Christmas Day!
How was your Christmas?
Lemme know!

Seriously, I should know better...

Thanks to Twitter I recently won a pizza gift card thru Comcast Sports.
Yea me!
It was for Domino's.
Not my family's first choose but you don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

So last night, after it took me almost 90 mins to get home, which is normally a 35 min drive, the last thing I wanted to do was cook. Plus I had a mountain of laundry to do so I decided to use the gift card.

Easy ordering.
Online.
Love it.
One 16" pizza, half bacon.
Easy, no?

Apparently, on Sunday of this week there was a run on this size pizza.
The guy from Dominos called me to tell me they were out of the 16" & they didn't even have boxes for a 16" pizza.
Really?
Dominos ran out of pizza?
Are you kidding me?

So we agreed on a 14" w/ a side of cheesy bread.
OVER 45 mins later my pizza arrives.
Luke warm.

I set it in front of the king & the prince & open the box.
There sat the most pathetic, reheated pizza I had ever seen.
The person that made it, didn't make it, they just pulled scraps from unused pizza & shoved it in the box. Different size slices & they were all curling up from being reheated.
Then I opened the cheesy bread.
Wait, make that the plain bread with a crumb of congealed cheese.
To say I was pissed was an understatement.

I called back the # that called me to tell me about the pizza.
It's the guys cell.
Whatever.
I tell him what happened.
He offers to remake everything.
It arrives.
Looks tons better.
Of course it arrived 45 mins after I called.
Hot.

It was pretty icky
BUT
The guy mad good on getting me out new pizza.

I just should know better than to ever order from Dominos.
They pretty much suck & it was approx 90 mins after I placed the order that I got my meal.
Really?
Whatever happen to 30 mins or free?
Even the online ordering said 15 - 20 mins for my delivery.
Then the guy told me the person that made my pizza left for the day.
Of course he did, mine was the last one he made before he left b/c it was a sh*t a** job.

I should b*tch since the kid made good on it
BUT
I want to know your experiences with Dominos.

Tell me.

I will not be a return customer b/c this happens more time than not with them.
Sigh.

Conversations with a 3yo...

The other evening Cheeks was leaning up against me as we sat on the couch.
He turned to me & said:
"Are those your pirates?"
I replied:
"What? What are you talking?"
The exchange went on for a few more seconds when he finally got exasperated & exclaimed:
"Mommy! Are those your Pirates!!!??"
All the while pointing to my breasts.
I started to laugh.
Replied:
"Oh you mean Privates? Yes they are"
Cheeks rolled his eyes & said:
"Yea, mommy your Pirates!"

The other evening Cheeks was sitting between his father & I watching, what else, "The Incredible Hulk".
As Bobster & I carried on a conversation Cheeks became aggitated.
His father started to ask him what the Abomination's name was in the movie.
Bobster "Is it Ted?"
Cheeks "No, it's Abomidnation"
This went on for about 2 minutes when Cheeks finally exclaimed
"Shhhh! I'm trying to watch this!"

One night last week Cheeks had a cookie.
He took a bite.
I had him ask his father if he would like a cookie.
I gave Cheeks the cookies & instructed him to give it to his daddy.
He walked into the living room & said "Daddy I have your cookie"
The promptly handed him the one he had bitten & kept the intact cookies.

Last night we were having pizza for dinner.
Cheeks kept telling me he wanted to try the one with pineapple.
There were 2 slices left, one pineapple, one plain.
I give him the one with pineapple, he proceeds to take the pineapple off.
"What are you doing? Give me that piece & you can have this one Cheeks"
"No I want this one, I want to try it" as each pineapple lands on his plate.
He finally field strips it when I say to him "You could have just had this one"
He replies
"Yes, but this one is bigger"

So what convo's have you had lately?

How to keep a 3yo busy

First gather your baking supplies & your decorator.
Realize you do not have a rolling pin so you resort to using a filled spaghetti sauce jar.
Oh that's right, that's called the White Trash rolling pin.
Just keeping it real.

Cut out the annual Christmas T-Wreck dinosaur.

I know it's T-Rex but he insists & will correct you that it is T-Wreck.

Cut out the Snowman & let him go to town decorating.
At this point I allowed him to sample the decor.
I'm lucky there was any left to put on the cookies.

Follow directions & watch cookies explode. The ones in the lower right on your screen are supposed to be Triceratops.

These I put in for less time.
Perfect consistency but they got a bit BIG!

How are you keeping your little ones busy this season?
Have you started your holiday baking?
