A little extra "fun" for your Saturday night!
You Will Be a Cool Parent |
http://www.blogthings.com/wouldyoubeacoolparentquiz/">Would You Be a Cool Parent?
Why is it...
that when I read blogs about other people thrift store shopping, bargain hunting, yard saling, they find the coolest stuff.
When I got do these things, I find junk.
See, I have decided to slowly change the decor of my house. Still country but throw in some shabby chic. Also I am on the prowl for pretty pink dishes. Don't get me wrong, I love my dishes. I have the entire set minus the matching silverware & glasses BUT I need some feminity in here. With 3 boys & one grown up manchild, my house can become overtaken with "male" things at anytime.
So out I went thrift shopping. I found one Carter's sleeveless orange & white romper for Cheekers. $1.99 at Goodwill. They had a BabyGap sweater in 2T which I am sure he will be wearing in the Winter for only $1.99. I passed tho. I just wasn't bowled over by it. Then at the other Goodwill I found canning jars (glass). I bought one & plan to put something in it. What? Yea, no idea.
Seriously, is it just that I have no eye for thrifty things? No creative bone in my body?
Why?
Why?
Why can I not find something to transform into something fabulous?
Is anyone out there creative enough to come with me & help me.
Show me the ropes.
Anyone?
Anyone at all?
Abbygirl, where are you when I need a thriftstore buddy?
My sister goes with me. She finds some stuff but sadly, she has the same deficient gene I do...she see's junk.
We need help!
On that note...

Momentous Day
Not only can we clap, we have said...........Da Da.
Sure, say dada, mama is the one that's with you 24hrs, bathes you, feeds you, etc etc but say dada.
I am thrilled that he said it! Really. I got so excited! I clapped & kissed him a million times.
Here's is a short video shot yesterday, May 23, 2007, of Ethan & his new skill!
Enjoy!

Disclaimer!
For those that read the comment by anonymous (ahem, my mom) there were no frozen waffles the day I cooked.
I made pancakes from scratch, pork roll & for the first time ever I fried potatos.
I plead the fifth on the mention of a jar of sauce somewhere. I decline to comment on that.
Now onto more fun things.
Someone learned to clap. Today. While out on the porch watching the cars go by.
Yes.
Bobster has learned to clap.
We were all quite proud. I mean at 35 soon to be 36 it's a very big accomplishment.
Seriously.
Cheekers has learned to clap!
I took a video of it but am "upload" challenge so my sister will have to do it for me.
It was so cute. I had him on my lap. Started to clap my hands. He grabbed my hands.
Started to clap them together.
Then he looked at his hands & did it.
Yes.
He's a genius!
Everytime he did it, I would go "Yea!!!!!!!!!"
I swear he's the next Einstein.
Of course he will be the Prophet one day(for you LDSer's who read my blog). As if any proud LDS mom doesn't think her son will be the next Prophet.
For those nonLDSer's.........he's obviously destined for being the smartest man ever.
On that note, I leave you!
Woops out~!

Could you not just chow down on that leg!
My word I don't think there are that many rolls in a bakery (Of course, under my shirt could rival any bakery!)
Took the Cheekers to see his Great Grandpop today. OR should I say...his identical twin (just 85 yrs older). You can tell my Grandpop is proud of his great grandson. He lives in an assisted living facility & rides a scooter, so we had to "scooter" around & take Cheekers on a parade. Everyone said how adorable he is. Of course, I would expect none the less. BAAHAAHAA! Seriously, it's always nice to hear & I am bias so I think he is the bestest, cutest thing ever.
Now I wanted to post on Thursday night but I was just so shocked I couldn't.
Ugly Betty.
Season final.
Oh.
My.
God!
I am so sad for Hilda.
And I can't believe Mark has left his assistant job.
Poor Betty.
Finally getting a date with Henry & then that biatch of an ex/gf shows up.
Preggers.
Ugh!
Now I have to wait til next season.
I don't think I can wait.
Seriously.
I love this show.
It rocks.
So if you haven't seen it check it out.
Now onto my WoW factor. I am always amazed that I have anyone read my blog.
Imagine my surprise when I found a quiz on here on Fe's blog!!!!! I was stunned & shocked.
Then I log on today & find a comment from none other than Lee Woodside.
Um, hello!
She's got one of the best blogs ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I couldn't believe she actual read my blog.
I couldn't believe she actual read my blog.
Even if it was just once, she read it.
Still trying to find time for myself.
Bobster helped out tons so far this weekend.
Mopped the kitchen floor. Put the drawer together that goes under the babers crib.
Took the trash out.
Hmm......I think his reward will be much to his delight!
Hoping to get a pedicure one night this week.
Getting the taxes done on Monday night.
Yes. I know they were due Apr 15th BUT my accountant said if you don't owe you can file every 3yrs.
I am hoping I get a decent rebate so I can put it towards our vaca in Feb...Disney here we come. Wooohooo.
It's me, Bobster, the boys, the Cheekers, my sister, all the inlaws & I think a few others.
I tried to talk my mom & her Bobster into it but she is politely declining.
I am excited to take the baby. He will be about 16/17 mos old but I know he will be delighted with what he sees.
Whew.
I am a chatty bugger tonight. Must be all the caffeine in my Diet Wild Cherry Pepsi.
Check it out. It's the bestest diet soda....EVER!

La de da......dum dee doo
Do you ever think that no matter how hard you try, how well you think you do, that it just isn't right? I am having the hardest time lately b/c no matter what I do, it isn't right. In my work life & my personal life.
I suck.
I am just sick of it! I work hard, I try to keep a nice house, I try to save money. Ha! Ha to it all.
Sometimes I just feel like the doors are closing in me. Sigh.
I think I need some time to myself. You know, like 3 hrs in the afternoon to get a pedicure, scrapbook or shop. Just me.
Don't get me wrong. I love my son. I have waited a looooooooooong time to have him & I love him with everything I have. I also know for my sanity that if I don't get maybe an afternoon out for a pedi & some shopping, I am going to lose it. I just want a pedicure people! I have naked piggies!!! Don't misunderstand, I love being with Cheekers & I feel horrible that I have to work 40hrs a week BUT I think every Mommy needs just a few hours to herself & going to work doesn't count. Is that wrong? Am I a bad Mommy? You can tell me the truth everyone. I can handle it!
Ok, enough with my pity post.
Off to bed.

Happy Mother's Day!!!!
My first official mommy's day was really sweet & nice. Bobster surprised me by coming home yesterday & then this morning he got me breakfast & flowers.
Cheekers, after mommy & daddy went to bed, must have gotten the van keys b/c when I woke up this morning, he had left a card for me in his crib. Now is that not the best son ever!
We got up & out early & went & visited Bobby's mom for the holiday. She cooked us breakfast, as she cooks every Sunday she doesn't work. Cheekers had some watermelon (it was a hit!) & some French Toast (an even bigger hit!).
Then we got my mom & sister, & Bobster, myself & the Cheekers took my mom to this Italian restaurant in Oaklyn for lunch. Now, um, it was us, a single guy & some family. That was it. Too say our waitress sucked ass is being kind. She sucked donkey ass. Sorry, had to be said. Then our food came. Um, yea, all of us were extremely disappointed & will not be back. Now Cheekers had some of my Cream of Broccoli soup (like 5 babyspoonfuls). I think that put him over the edge b/c the rest of the afternoon he spit up. He would spit up & go back to playing or jumping or rolling or whatever he was doing. Didn't phase him.
Here is a layout I did last week. I just now got around to scanning & stitching. Cheekers is about 3 weeks old. He is on the wedge thing for babies. Yea, that lasted like a week, as he managed to push the velco off & get the wedge thing over his face.

Psst, stay tuned...I am creating a new "layout" blog for layouts that I find inspirational!!! If you link me your blog you layout might appear in it!!!!
Keep an eye out!

~Whew~
Where does the time go when there seems to be no time!
First things first...my spacebar is going. My computer chair finally broke a few weeks ago, so now I guess it's the keyboard. Lucky me.
Second...Tara asked me to list 5 reasons I blog, you know, what I use my blog for.
1. To keep my family (if they even read it) updated on Cheeks & show off his new pics.
2. Show off my layouts (which I have a new one but am too lazy to scan & stitch together...man! I suck!)
3. To issue blog challenges & hope my blog takes off like others. BAAHAAHAA. Yea right.
4. To bitch & moan.
5. To get out my frustrations, post about my day, keep me sane.
Stuff like that. So there ya go. Now if you read my blog, I want you to list 5 reasons in your blog (if you have one) & link me to it! If you don't blog, leave me a comment as to why you read my blog. Puh-leeze! Don't make me beg...Not pretty people!
Now may I present photos of the children
Our first picnic as a family...the red head is our nephew, Danny.
We bought Christopher a pogo stick for Christmas.
Go Christopher!
May I present the Cheekers & the Nana:
Finally, Cheeks has had enough of the Babyrazzi!
