La de da......dum dee doo

Do you ever think that no matter how hard you try, how well you think you do, that it just isn't right? I am having the hardest time lately b/c no matter what I do, it isn't right. In my work life & my personal life.

I suck.

I am just sick of it! I work hard, I try to keep a nice house, I try to save money. Ha! Ha to it all.

Sometimes I just feel like the doors are closing in me. Sigh.

I think I need some time to myself. You know, like 3 hrs in the afternoon to get a pedicure, scrapbook or shop. Just me.

Don't get me wrong. I love my son. I have waited a looooooooooong time to have him & I love him with everything I have. I also know for my sanity that if I don't get maybe an afternoon out for a pedi & some shopping, I am going to lose it. I just want a pedicure people! I have naked piggies!!! Don't misunderstand, I love being with Cheekers & I feel horrible that I have to work 40hrs a week BUT I think every Mommy needs just a few hours to herself & going to work doesn't count. Is that wrong? Am I a bad Mommy? You can tell me the truth everyone. I can handle it!

Ok, enough with my pity post.
Off to bed.

Nope - uh-ub NOT a bad mommy! I know exactly how your feel! We all need a break for longer than a 20 minute shower. I need about 2 weeks LOL! Hope you can find some time.

Nik

Meghan you are not a bad mummy for wanting a few hours for a pedi.. I do not work (I am lucky enough not to have to) but I have 16 hours a week to myself.

Indi goes to day care and that is my time. On those days I clean house, get a haircut, scrap and do whatever I want to do...

But to want that time to yourself is not a bad thing babe.. It means you are normal..

If I was around I would so take Cheeks for a bit for you... Indi would love to play with him..

Hi Meghan I read your blog. I was in a pregnancy group with you on yahoo. You are not a bad mommy at all. Every mom needs some alone time. I work part time and than the rest of the I am home with baby. Its hard to keep the house clean, take care of baby, and work even part time. Get you an afternoon once a week or once every two weeks. I understand where you are coming from completey.

totally not a bad mommy! everyone needs a little down time. I tend to take mine after Aidan is in bed, I just curl up with a book, or watch a movie. I would scrap but I'd have to come downstairs to do that, and I like to stay near by incase he wakes up and needs something.
big hugs to you and I hope you get some time to yourself!

Meghan... not only do you deserve that time.. you NEED to have it. That time will keep you sane and healthy. I so remember what it was like to be where you are right now. Can your sister maybe babysit so that you can have an evening or afternoon every week off? ((hugs))

Meghan

It makes you a fine mother that you realize that you'd be a much better person and a much better mother if you just had some ME time. My dh knows that in order for me to funtion properly, I MUST HAVE my ME time.

You need to let your significant other know that you will be a better person all the way around if you only had some time to yourself.

You are perfectly normal and perfectly within your rights to want/need what you are asking for.

Meghan, I totally understand where you're coming from. I don't know how to make it work, but I need that time, too!

Girl being a Mother is one of the hardest jobs in the world. They dont come with an instruction manual and we do our best.
You do need to take time out to do something for "you".

Jodi

Every mom needs time to herself to have some me time. That does not make you a bad mom. that makes you a normal mom.

You absolutely need and deserve mommy time Meghan! All good mommies should have a little time to themselves to rejuvenate, rev up the old "Mommy Gears" and be able to feel as though you can take it all on again this week. Sometimes it's a pedi, sometimes it's a 15 minute bubble bath, what ever it takes to pump up your Mommy Gears you deserve it girl.

(Not saying we get it but it all sounds so dang good anyhow right?!) LOL

Hope you get your "mommy time"!
Hugs,
Lis

I'm a bit late to the party here but ITA with everyone else. Get yourself some Meghan time, go out to lunch with the girls, get the pedi, whatever you need. Because I'm here to tell you from experience, what happens when you don't do those things ain't pretty. And it's definitely not good for you, Bobby or Cheeks.
