Today we did a yardsale at a local school.
Proceeds went to a student who was diagnosed w/ Lukhemia (?)...it was $15 for the space.
Well I took all of Cheeks clothes sans a few special things + his exersaucer & a bucnh of xtra stuff. Erin took tons of things too.
We ended up each making $20 & took everything immediately to Goodwill.
Left early...started at 8, we left at 9:30.
Why?
Well it was 35 with the windchill, overcast, raining & the wind gust were 35 mph.

Erin & I took turns sitting with Cheeks in the van.

Stopped & saw my friend Rocky...haven't seen him in over 2 yrs.
It was so good to see him. So shout out to Rock & Bren!!!! Hoping we will get together soon & they will get to meet Bobster.

Speaking of which, he is returning to PR pretty soon.
It sucks but that's life.

And, as Murphy Law always is, I start my new job on Nov 12th & just received a subpeona to testify (finally) in case that has come to trial. It came to trial in 2006 (the alledge crime took place in 2004), but the orig. trial was postponed. I just mentioned to my family that I can't believe it never came to trial. I need to learn to keep my mouth shut.
So now I have to report to work & let them know that during my 3rd week of training, I will need the week off b/c I've been subpeona.
Way to start off on a good foot.

November 1st

Here's my mom!
She showed up last night, dressed like Raggedy Ann.

No she didn't dress up for work.
She dressed up for Cheeks b/c the sun rises & falls on this child!!!!
The funny thing is she got him a book that has the buttons to push to play music.
Well, he would push, she would dance.
He caught on quick & would push. When she was done, he would clap & push it again.
This went on for like 15 mins.
Seriously.
I wonder if she will dress up like a Turkey for Thanksgiving for him....hee hee

This was taken yesterday on the way to see my Godson.
What a ham! Check out those teeth. He had all his teeth by the time he was 13 mos old.

Saw my Grandpop today.
It's his birthday.

Happy Halloween

I think he was talking to my dad in this picture! I dunno.

I am letting his hair grow long, ala Kate Hudson's kid. I sort of like it. We will see what his dad thinks.

So last night was the annual parade in town. I entered Cheeks. He was not amused but held up. We walked about a mile then walked home. He went straight to bed. There was judging & such but we left. People go all out for this. I just threw some vines around his buggy & called it a day.

Imagine my surprise when tonight I got a call telling me he won a prize!!! Woohoo...I have to pick it up tomorrow.

So I have a little prize winner on my hands.

No trick or treating for my little man. I did take him to my mom's salon & then over to see my Godson, who was Elmo. Such a cutie he was.

My mom surprised him by dressing like Raggedy Anne & coming over. He wasn't too sure if it was her, even after she took off her wig. It was really funny & when I went to video it, my camera was dead. Son of a b*tch!

So Cheeks is sleeping.

Glimpses of a Busy Weekend........

Last night, we decided to build a Haunted Gingerbread House.
All was going well....

Apparantly, I have to look into a lawsuit to Wilson for selling us blueprints that were not for a sturdy house. The mortar provided with the uneven walls are very dangerous for the inhabitants. Needless to say this is how the house ended up!


Friday night, Cheekers was walking & of course fell.
Ok.
No biggie.
Shake it off.
Um, yea.
No shake.
Fell & split his lip open. Look closely, you can see it's a bit swollen.
Finally he left a hat on his head.

Tonight was his big brother's, Tim (who r/q'd to go by Tim, no more Timmy b/c he is 14), birthday celebration (it's tomorrow). So Cheeks, hearing it was a PAR-TAH, decided to get out his best club gear & head on into the high chair for his festivities!!!
Guess you could tell what a daughter would have looked like if we had had one. LOL

They are overnighting the drug test & background check info to me. Then I guess when the test comes back good & so does the check, altho. my days of being a double agent will be exposed, DAMN!, I will start work.
I figure Nov 5th.

So Bobster is on his way to pick up the boys which will be nice as they haven't been here in like 5 weeks. Cheeks is picking out his movie again, looks like Walking Tall with The Rock.

That is my son's favorite past time. Removing all of our dvd's from the basket that I keep them in under that there table. This keeps him busy for like 60 mins. And as a plus, I have discovered tons of dvd's I forgot we owned. BAAHAAAHAA.

Every morning & night I brush Cheeks teeth.

We sing a little song to the tune of Shake Your Booty...we sing Brush Your Teeth. Then I add "We've got to brush out teeth or they will smell like feet!" Oh yea, it's rap version. I hear Dr. Dre & Russell Simmons are battling it out to see who get's to sign me to their label. Of course, for those close to me, I will only sign if Jay-Z asks me.

What could my rap name be? Hmm.....

That's not the funny. Here is the funny.

After I am done brushing Cheeks teeth, he looks in the mirror,smiles & blows himself a kiss. With sound effects & all.

It's hysterical.

This has been going on for like a week.

Bobster is still away. In the past 10 weeks he was home for what I think amounts to a week. I'm not sure. It's taking it's tole on him. He wants a day off (can't blame him) & he want's to relax with his family (can't blame him again) & he really misses the boys. I think he is going to try to come home this weekend & hopefully we can get the boys.
Timmy will be 14 the end of the month! Holy Moly!
I want to do a cake for him & have the fam over.
We also have the Gingerbread Haunted House to make with the kids. Well, Cheeks will eat it, Tim will ignore it, Chris will decorate it, Bob will construct it & I will scrapbook it.

Had 2 job interviews today.
One was at a shoe designer. Oh yea baby.
Didn't work out.
The owner told me right off the bat that if I couldn't do the salary to let him know & he wouldn't continue with the interview.
I told him right away.
$5k less than what I was making.
That's less than what I was making when I left FMP to go back to school.

The 1st interview went really well.
I was there 2 hrs!
The HR girl told me everyone really liked me but they could only pay....
$5k less than what I was making.
Oiyve.
So a little haggling & she asked me what I could work for.
I told her my bottom line.
Only $1k less than my last job
BUT
I need a job & $1k less won't make much difference.
Sigh.
So she has to talk to her bro (they run their dad's company) & I will call her tomorrow. She is going to try to get me what I want b/c they like me.
Yes, they really like me. I feel like I should be clutching an Oscar.

Onto other news.
Cheekers has a cold. Little fever.
The bugger will not let me take his temp.
I did the underarm thing...well you would have thought I asked him to donate a kidney.
So I ran to the store to get the strips you just stick to the forehead...they must not make them anymore cause I couldn't find them.
Ended up getting a thermometer that reads the temp when you hold it to the temple.
Well, for the Love of God, you would have thought I was trying to murder him.
I mean he was thrashing, crying, just when I put the ball on his temple.
What a mess.
I got a reading tho.
It's low, like 99 but he's not himself.
Poor kid.

He's walking!!!
Took his first couple steps the last weekend of the month.
He does better in the playpen walking, then out.
He only seems to do it when he feels like it. Crawling is faster for him & damn! he's quick.

Other news in my life......
Yep.
Got nothing.
Lead a dull life.

Hopefully the whole family will be together either this coming weekend or the weekend before Halloween.

Tim's bday is the 29th. So I want to bake a cake & have the fam over for cake. I know what we are getting him I just have to find it as cheap as possible.

Depsite the heat & some rude people, it was a really good time. When I say Cheeks loved the hay, that is an understatement. This kid was like me in a Coach store with an unlimited amount to spend. He loved it!!!!!!!!!!!!! Of course, he didn't nap all day so he was a little, um, cranky towards the end of the day. That's ok. He's so friggin cute so all is ok :>)

Not much else going on. Still job hunting. Hopefully will hear from this one company this week. I am enjoying staying home but sadly Visa & PSEG do not understand that I like to stay home therefor I can't make the bills. You think they would be more sympathetic. O well.

I think we all have these types of photos & if you don't then I would hope you would realize I do have enough common sense not to let my son have alcohol...at least not until he's 3!! LOL

In other news, we are going to the pumpkin patch with my sister, Aunt Kathy & cousin/my Godson, Aidan today. Taking a hayride, picking the pumpkin, all in the lovely 80 some odd degree weather & high humidity that we are experiencing this week. Where the frig is October??? It better get cooler or poor Cheeks will be sweating galore on Halloween. His costume is made for cooler temperatures.

Totally love that site. When I saw the title I knew exactly what picture I wanted to use. He's a good looking kid that Timothy. He's going to be 14 on the 29th. I met him when he was 11! Holy Cow. I was looking at pics the other day of him & you can see how much he has changed. Matured. So fast!

Now today I had an interview. So off I went.
I arrived on the 3rd floor, told the older than dirt receptionist my name.

BUT
THREE TIMES.

She then called the girl I was meeting with and told her:

MEGA IS HERE.

MEGA?
Lady, do I look like a video game system?
Or did you decide b/c I am a fluffy girl, that I am mega fat & decided that is my new name.
Again, just another example of someone naming me what they prefer v. what my mom liked.

Anywho, interview went well.
I want to stay home but there is a lot more to consider when I do that then just my wants.

Bobster has been home for awhile now. Well since Sunday night.
Timmy had to be put in the hospital for an infected hair folicle that turned into a staff infection so he came home.
He's working locally for the time being.
Timmy is home.
Came home today.
I feel bad for the kid.
He has to have the wound packed & repacked everyday.
Just like I did with my face.
It's painful but I was able to be numbed.
They can't num his area.
Not good times.
At least he's home now & resting.
He's been sick & nervous about each repack everyday.
He's on the mend tho.
Monday he goes to Dupont to see what is going on with his back.
He has bulging ligaments & 3 stress fractors so he is a brace for 6 mos.
Yea.
He's 8th grade year isn't go so great right now.

So keep him your thoughts.
And say a prayer for the next person who mispronounces my name or decided to spell it their way.

Spelling Lesson

Ok listen up.
Pay attention.

My name is Meghan.
It is spelled M E G H A N
That's right, my name has an H in it.

Now, I have all my emails signed w/ my name.
Meghan.
I also sign all my mb's with my name.
Meghan.

Not once I have ever spelled it differently.
Unfortunately a lot of people feel that even tho. they are reading what I wrote, they either:
a. Aren't paying attention
or
b. Decide the way they want to spell my name is better than how my mom spelled it.

Here's a quick lesson for you.
When you add an extra a, e or i. It changes the pronunciation.
Ex:
Meaghan.....sounds like Maygin.
You pronounce my name like this: M egg in.
There ya go. I broke it out for you!

Now if you had an i, like Meighan. It is now said like this:
Meeeeeeegin.
Again, this is not how I spell my name nor say it.

I know there are different ways to spell Meghan.
I have a best friend who spells it Megan. Of course, when I made something out to here, once, just once, I spelled it like mine. I quickly redid it so she didn't think I was a moron. I think that mistake is understandable since it's the same name!

So please, please, please pay attention to the spelling if the person's name is in what they wrote.

I have had to deal with misspelling for 37 years. YEP! You read it right.
37 years.

So remember it's spelled like this:

Another CJ Layout Down...a few more to go

Did this entry for Martha's cj from www.scrappinmojo.com. It was for your special technique. I don't really use on particular technique so I went with Freestyle. Sort of go with flow. It turned out better than I expected.

In other news...
Had some interviews.
The 1st one went well. I don't think they are paying what I am asking.
2nd one went really well. They offered me the job but low balled me. We entered salary negotiations but after much thought, & talking with Bobster, I am going to pass.
I realized that with my experience & my college education I am worth more.
Now, the 3rd interview, was at the Goddard School. For asst. to the teacher.
What the pay was was basically minimum wage.
That's not going to work.

So tomorrow I am heading to the BOE in a neighboring town to see about being a TA. The pay might not be close to what I want BUT it will get my foot in the door & allow me to be with Cheekers more, which I am thoroughly enjoying.

Bobster just keeps telling me we will be alright.

Hola! I am back from the land of Goya!!!

Did you even know I was gone?
Yes, yes, Bobster's company flew me to Puerto Rico for a long weekend.
So nice!
Flight down was super sweet. I had no one next to the two seats next to me & then a very quiet, old, old lady who only spoke Spanish & used her Rosary beads the entire flight. I watched Blades of Glory on the way down. Glad I didn't go to the movies for that one.

Got off the flight.
Met Bobster (and Keith...can't leave him out!)

Back to the apt. It's sweet! 3 bedrooms, 3 baths, balcony, tile floor & AIR CONDITIONING.
For the love of God, PR is HOT!!! HOT!!! HOT!!

Went to lunch.
Best food ever! Italian & better than the food I had in Italy.
Bobster's boss called & said to take me out to dinner on the company.
We hit up Ruth Chris.
Now that was good.

I drank.
Can you believe it?
While in PR, I had 2 Cosmo's, ice cream w/ Brandy on it, a Pina Strawberry Coloda & a Shmirnoff Ice.

Got to meet some guy from the Sixers. Well Keith & Bob talked to him. I just sat there. Some 6'9, white kid who looked like Ashton Kutcher. His leg folded was the lenght of mine. But let me tell you, he had the whitest, straightest teeth EVER!

AS for the county of PR....hmmm...for those who are local, if you have been to Camden, you have been to PR. For those not so local....think of the worse city in your state & there you have PR.

Don't get me wrong. Parts of the Island are beautiful (like the rain forest) but for the most part, it's a poor county & sadly, it shows.

A lot of people just pull over on the side of the road & open their trunk. Pull out the portable over/grill & cook & sell it. Or they pull out souvenoirs. Sell them.

I missed Cheekers terrible.
I swear he grew so much in the 4 days I was gone.
I was happy to see him. He smiled at me but Elmo was on so he was preoccupied.
Glad to know Mommy isn't as special as Elmo.

Went to my first post firing work day today.
I did little.
Especially after I met with the woman in HR.
Oh, she's a peach.
On the way out, I asked her if she would provide a letter of reference.
She said no.
I said Ok.
Then, with a sickening sweet smile & condecending tone in her voice she added:
"Especially when there has been a problem."
I was speechless.
As if I embezzled funds or create havoc.
If it was that bad, I doubt I would have been allowed to complete this week so I could get benefits for the month.
Whatever! I made mistakes, I admit, but come on!

Job interview on Thursday.
Wish me luck.

In the meantime I think I am going to try to scrap.
